Mentor School District is one of the largest in the state of Ohio.  The high school on Center Street opened in 1965.  Mentor High is a member of the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) and participates at the Division I level (large school and highest among the OHSAA six divisions) in all Boys and Girls athletics.  Varsity and JV Hockey is played at the Mentor Civic Center, adjacent to the school campus.  The facility, operated by the City of Mentor, houses two full ice surfaces with bleachers and scoreboards, a studio rink, locker rooms, meeting rooms and concessions.
